Manchester United Football Club are already looking like an extremely different outfit under Jose Mourinho. At the weekend his side looked full of confidence, strong physically, and like a really tight unit defensively – the perfect blend for English football.
One man who missed out on the squad against Bournemouth was Matteo Darmian, and at the time his exclusion went slightly under the radar.
That may not be the case anymore, though. Sky Sports News’ usually reliable journalist Kaveh Solhekol has spoken. He reckons that both Napoli and Roma want to sign Matteo Darmian during this current window to bolster their defensive options.
Mourinho loves strong and powerful full-backs like Antonio Valencia and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and although Darmian is versatile, he doesn’t really fit that mould.
You’d imagine that if United can make a profit on the £12million they paid for Darmian last summer, this deal could well be a goer before the summer is out.
