Manchester United have not made a bid, or aren’t interested in signing AS Monaco defensive midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko. That’s according to Sky Sports News who are usually the most reliable when it comes to transfer rumours and gossip.
This report comes just hours after some media outlets were suggesting that United had in fact outbid Chelsea in an attempt to sign the 22-year-old, but it looks as though Sky are denying them before they pick up any sort of speed.
In all honesty, after the whole Romelu Lukaku, it just feels like Chelsea have briefed the media claiming United are interested, just so it looks like they have gotten one over on us in return.
That’s not to say the young man isn’t a cracking player. He absolutely bullied Manchester City in their Champions League meeting last term, but it does look like he’ll be on his way to Stamford Bridge at some point this summer.
In the aforementioned report, Sky are still claiming that the Premier League duo of Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier are still Jose Mourinho’s top targets in that area of the field. Both of whom have Premier League experience and knowledge, and you cannot really go wrong with that – although it’ll probably cost the club a bit more in terms of a transfer fee.
