Sofyan Amrabat is seemingly in line to make his full debut for Man United this evening.

For Manchester United, attention turns to the Carabao Cup this evening. Crystal Palace visit Old Trafford, with the Eagles looking to cause an upset and book their place in the next round.

Erik ten Hag will be keen on starting the cup defence in positive fashion, though there is a real temptation to rotate hanging overhead. I’d expect to see a fair mix of first-team and fringe players take to the field here.

One man who we will see from the outset is Sofyan Amrabat. That’s according to the Evening Standard, who state that the 27-year-old United player is ‘expected’ to make his full debut for the Reds in the game later. They also believe Mason Mount is in line for a return to the side.

Amrabat was the big deadline day signing, with United tracking the man from Morocco for what felt like most of the summer. However, he arrived at the club injured and it did take some time for him to recover.

The midfielder did make his debut against Burnley at the weekend. He’d come on late in that game to help see the game out, in an unorthodox left-back position…

With injuries still rife in the full-back spot, there’s a chance Amrabat could be deployed out of position here. However, I do hope he does get his chance to start the game in midfield. Obviously, that’s his best position and we’d all like to see him flourish and kick things off on the right foot.

I’m fully expecting this to be a game-changing signing for United, as Amrabat’s energy and physicality is exactly what we’ve been missing to start this season.
