Manchester United Football Club made it two wins from two on pre-season tour, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer giving 23 players a run out.
Amongst the top performers were Tahith Chong, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba. However, a couple of familiar faces were missing.
There was no David de Gea or Romelu Lukaku. Recent rumours from The Independent have suggested that the Spaniard will sign a new deal at Old Trafford, while doubts remain about the Belgian’s long-term future in Manchester.
Well, Solskjaer explained the pair’s absences (thanks to @ManUtd). De Gea is suffering from an illness while Lukaku is still seemingly nursing a little problem that kept him out of the Perth game…
Thankfully, neither problem seems too serious. We need De Gea to be in tip-top shape come the start of the season as he is by far and away our best goalkeeper. As for Lukaku, I still think he’ll be leaving during this window, but we’ll have to wait and see on that one…
Hopefully, the pair are back in training over the next 24 hours or so and they’re ready to go shortly after.
The lads will now fly to Singapore tomorrow, and gear up for a game against Inter Milan this Saturday!
