Solskjaer addresses Paul Pogba exit rumours

Manchester United Football Club is a much happier hunting ground these days. That’s all down to the impact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made.

The Red Devils are playing well, they’re looking hungry and feeling confident. Going into the final part of the season we’re in a good position in terms of finishing in the top four.

Perhaps the key member of the squad at this stage is Paul Pogba. We need our mercurial Frenchman to be in tip-top shape, although rumours about a potential Real Madrid switch certainly aren’t helping.

Now today, Solskjaer tackled those rumours head on; reiterating the Frenchman’s happiness at Old Trafford right now.

“Paul is happy here, he is playing well. There was talk about the international break and what kind of issues that causes.” Solskjaer told the media, including Sky Sports News.

“One of the issues is, the players are always available for the press. They are open, and he answered a general question about any player would like to play for Real Madrid.

“He didn’t talk about himself, he is happy here.”

With a few years still left on his deal, the ball is firmly in United’s court. With Pogba being such a marketable player I highly doubt that Edward Woodward would ever consider sanctioning a move to sell him, unless the offer was just astronomical.

He is our most talented player, that much is obvious. When he’s on song there aren’t many better midfielders in the world, it’s just a shame that inconsistency has failed him over the last few seasons.

Solskjaer has certainly helped in that regard but the fact that Pogba is now playing deep again for the good of the cause tells you how much of a team player he is. The Frenchman is having to put other things first rather than boosting his own numbers, but as we get players back from injury, maybe we’ll see the best that Pogba has to offer in the not too distant future.
