Man United are set to be without Amad Diallo until after the next international break due to injury.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have woke up with a smile on his face this morning. Manchester United sit atop the table on goal difference, while welcoming home the Greatest of All Time yesterday.

It felt like Cristiano Ronaldo had never been away, scoring twice on debut and powering United to a 4-1 victory. However, it wasn’t all good news yesterday, with Solskjaer confirming an injury to Amad Diallo.

United have been dealt the blow, with the attacker set to be sidelined for the next month, though the Ivorian is working hard to get himself back as soon as possible. His return is expected after the October international break.

Check out what Solskjaer had to say here:

“Still injured, still out for about a month. So maybe after the next international break he will be available for us which is great for us.” Solskjaer told ManUtd.com.

β€œIt was bad timing for him to get that injury but he’s working really hard and the kid is going to be a good one.”

Amad’s situation is an interesting one. Obviously, it looked like United were trying to sanction a loan move for the talented teenager, though nothing came to fruition.

The winger will now remain at Old Trafford until at least January, though even when he returns, Amad may find minutes hard to come by due to how stacked United are in wide areas. Sadly, injury hampered those plans.

Nobody can deny his talent. This boy has a bright future. Though I can’t help but feel he should be plying his trade elsewhere on a short-term deal to further his development as U23 football here at United isn’t going to cut it for him.

First and foremost, it’s now about remaining in good spirits and returning from injury as quickly as possible. Then, Amad must work hard in training and hope for a chance in the cup competitions.

I still expect he’ll head out on loan in the mid-season window, providing he’s fit of course.
