Solskjaer confirms four players will miss Man United’s game vs Real Sociedad

Manchester United Football Club will be without four first-teamers for their game against Real Sociedad tomorrow.

It’s always nice when you’re in a commanding position of a two-legged tie. The Red Devils would stick four past Real Sociedad without reply on the road, looking excellent throughout the tie.

Going into the second game, it certainly offers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer some wiggle room in regards to team selection. Sure, the last thing you’d want to do is underestimate your opponent, but I think it’s a fair bet we’ll see some different faces in the starting line-up at Old Trafford tomorrow night.

Well, four players will certainly be missing, with Solskjaer confirming their injuries, before stating they’ll miss this game…

When asked directly about the availability of Edinson Cavani, Donny van de Beek, Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, Ole replied:

“They’ll still be missing,” explained the gaffer to ManUtd.com

“They’ve not joined training so they won’t be ready. no. Paul has been outside on the grass and is starting to step up his recovery but he’s not near the team for this game.”

Alright, so talking hypothetically, the only one of these guys who probably would have started this game anyway is Van de Beek. However, it’s never nice when you’re missing players through injuries.

What’s concerning me is the fact that no timeline was put upon their possible return. I’d hope that these guys will be back available for selection for the game against Chelsea – though I’m not holding my breath.

There was some good news, mind, with Pogba now back in training. Sure, it’ll take him a little time to get back up to speed before he’s in contention once again, though at least he’s now on the right track.

If we’re putting a positive spin on things, I guess this means there’s a better chance we’ll some youngsters involved, with Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire both in with a shout at seeing some game-time here.

Get well soon, lads.
