The Erling Haaland to Man United transfer rumours just won’t go away. Today, we have another update in that saga…
We’ve been here before. I don’t doubt we’ll be here several times before Erling Haaland eventually chooses his new club. Sadly, it comes with the territory when you’re amongst the biggest clubs in the world.
This update comes from AS and their Wednesday print edition, translated via Sport Witness. The report is actually about Norway’s international side, stating that they’ll go ‘all out’ with Martin Odegaard and Haaland, as they looked to beat Gibraltar in a World Cup qualifier that took place last night.
AS do offer some insight in regards to Haaland’s future. The striker currently ‘dazzles’ clubs with his performances, having scored 33 goals in 31 domestic matches this season. Understandably, sides are taking note…
Haaland is now ‘wanted’ by United, Manchester City, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. What’s interesting is that AS go deeper into a potential United move for Haaland – but no other sides mentioned get this treatment.
Apparently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘keeps calling’ the United transfer target, as he’s trying to ‘recruit’ Haaland, in an effort to encourage him to sign for the Reds.
Here is the AS article on Haaland’s future:
It’s worth noting Haaland spoke to the media this week, refusing to comment on these stories, insisting he’s fully committed to Borussia Dortmund right now.
In the end, though, it seems clear (to me anyway), that Haaland will move on and only a handful fo clubs can afford his services. What a signing it would be for the Old Trafford club if they can pull it off.
However, they’re fourth-favourites amongst most bookies at the moment, with our cross-town rivals looking likeliest to acquire Haaland at this point in time.
I guess that’ll only change if we start challenging for major honours year-in-year-out.
