Manchester United’s injury situation is reaching crisis-levels. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now without Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay in the long-term, leaving the Red Devils extremely short-handed.
So-much-so that The Independent are now reporting said injuries have influenced United’s transfer strategy. In their article, it’s being claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now prioritising an attacking-midfielder signing this month, with The Independent actually naming two key targets.
One of them you’ll be familiar with; James Maddison. The Leicester City man has been linked with an Old Trafford switch before. It seems as though the Baby Faced Assassin is still a big fan of the ever-improving 23-year-old.
The other is a relatively new name; Jack Grealish. Although he was mentioned in passing during an article we covered from ESPN just yesterday, it seems as though the Reds are beginning to take more notice of the Aston Villa man.
I’m a huge Maddison admirer and I always thought he’d be the ideal signing. However, after watching Grealish week-in-week-out, I’m certainly warming to that idea. He has the swagger and cockiness that typically United players have – and as Grealish adapts and adjusts to Premier League football the performance levels are only increasing.
In summary, either would be a wonderful signing if Solskjaer can pull it off. However, as The Independent rightly state, there’s a difficulty in signing either of them during this month and any deal would probably have to be put on hold until the summer.
