Solskjaer sings luke Shaw’s praises after return to from this season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has waxed lyrical about Luke Shaw, who is in the form of his life right now.

Manchester United feel like a team that are heading in the right direction. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are playing some lovely stuff, now, it’s about finding that consistency.

A few more signings will no doubt further improve us in the summer, though you have to look at the current members of the squad who are all improving.

Amongst them, Luke Shaw. I’ll be honest, I thought he was finished at Old Trafford but I’ve never been happier to be proven wrong. This season, the Englishman is playing some incredible football and it’s brilliant watching him flourish.

He looks fitter than ever before, buccaneering up and down that left-flank all game, while Shaw is now delivering real quality into the box. Four assists in 2021 leads the way in the Premier League.

Anyway, Solskjaer would rave about the 25-year-old in a recent press conference, praising the star who is performing at the highest level right now.

Check out what Solskjaer had to say about Shaw’s game here:

“It’s great credit to Luke,” Solskjaer said when asked about Shaw’s return to form, per the Manchester Evening News.

“We have worked him really, really hard – and that is how a good player becomes a good player again.

“He has worked hard, he’s shown real dedication and focus – and I think that maybe becoming a dad has helped Luke big-time.

“We believe in him. He knew as soon as I came to the club what I thought of him.

“And with Alex (Telles) coming in, he has realised that he’s going to have to perform to stay in the team because he is up against a really top player.

“Luke has consistently performed at a high level so he’s getting the rewards from that.”

He’s playing that well that I’d have him as one of the best left-backs in the country, maybe even the world. Now, it’s about doing it on a consistent basis.

It’s easy to forget that Shaw looked like this sort of player when United signed him from Southampton all those years ago. He’s always had it in him. I’m just delighted we’re seeing it.

What’s most pleasing is that Shaw is just a nice fella. He’s a very likeable guy who does a lot of great work in the local communities. Now, we’re seeing the insanely talented player we always knew he was.

These kind words from the gaffer will no doubt only further spur him on, particularly with Alex Telles still pushing hard for regular starts.
