Solskjaer to be given £250m to spend, targeting English trio: report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now realise just how big-a-task he has on his hands at Manchester United.

The Red Devils have lost seven in nine, while the serious weaknesses of an average squad continues to be exposed. Against the best-of-the-best, too many of these players just aren’t good enough.

Now, according to the Daily Mirror, it is being reported that the Baby Faced Assassin is set to be backed. He’ll be handed a £250million transfer kitty with the manager telling the board he needs at least four ‘strategic signings’ while offloading some deadwood…

Apparently, English trio Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jadon Sancho and Callum Hudson-Odoi are atop of United’s wishlist, along with Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt.

These are some big names being mentioned and they all have one thing in common; they’re young.

Bringing in youth is something United has always excelled at. It makes perfect sense to continue that mantra and ideology.

Solskjaer is trying to bring youth back to an ageing squad. In doing so, it allows the gaffer to mould those players into one that suits his style. It goes without saying that United need a new right-back and right-winger. For me, these have to be our top priorities this summer, but there is far too much work to complete in one window. The manager is going to need time and the fact that he’s a fan favourite leads me to think he’ll get it.
