Derby day is here once again, as the Red Devils prepare to go toe-to-toe with a Manchester City side whom they beat rather handily last time out. Manchester United come into this one on the back of some poor performances, mind – and they’ll be looking to put that right.
Ahead of the game, the Manchester Evening News’ eagle-eyed reporters have been at it again – uncovering a 21-man travelling squad for the game vs City.
The first point of note is that both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have managed to overcome illness and they’re included here. Harry Maguire was also doubtful, though he’s also with the first-team today.
As expected, all the usual faces like David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford are all involved. There’s no Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay who are nursing long-term injuries.
In terms of surprises, it’s nice to see Tahith Chong in there following a better performance from him last time out. There’s also space for Brandon Williams and Angel Gomes; both of whom will be looking to make their mark.
As always, this squad is subject to change as players can link up later…
