Man Utd have named a 21-man travelling squad for their Premier League game vs Newcastle United this evening.
The Red Devils sit in second place in the Premier League table, some way off Manchester City in first. However, the fight for a spot in the Champions League is firmly on, with United leading the way in that regard.
Every win brings us a step closer to achieving that goal, while keeping the pressure up on our noisy neighbours up top. Tonight’s game against Newcastle United will be a typically hard-fought one, so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to ensure his players are in exactly the right frame of mind.
Anyway, ahead of the game, the Manchester Evening News‘ eagle-eyed reporters have spotted a 21-strong travelling party, including a young duo yet again, with both Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire in the mix.
Check out the Man Utd squad vs Newcastle United in full here:
David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Lee Grant, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Shola Shoretire, Bruno Fernandes, Juan Mata, Amad, Daniel James, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood.
Diallo would make his debut in the Europa League against Real Sociedad and this time around, it could be Shoretire’s chance. Injuries to senior members of the squad certainly helps his case, too.
There’s no place for Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay, Phil Jones or Paul Pogba, which definitely gives the gaffer something to think about. Hopefully, these guys aren’t too far away from a return…
I think Solskjaer simply has to go best team available here, particularly given how strong-a-position we’re in for the return leg against Sociedad on Thursday. Fingers crossed we can grab all three points and keep up the momentum!
