Squad news: Shaw & Pogba set to return for Man United vs Everton

Manchester United Football Club had a rather thin-looking squad at the weekend, with several players out injured or banned. Tonight, though, the Red Devils play host to Everton – and thankfully, things are looking quite a lot better.

That’s been confirmed by the Manchester Evening News, who say that both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera are back in the squad after suffering domestic suspensions.

There is more than that, though, and they add that Luke Shaw was also spotted with the squad at the Lowry Hotel, despite getting absolutely slaughtered by Jose Mourinho recently. One feels that this could well be the 21-year-old’s final chance to impress the self-proclaimed Special One, and he simply has to take it.

On top of that, Paul Pogba could be in line for a return to the starting eleven too, following a hamstring injury. He was spotted training on the field after the game at the weekend, which to me suggests he isn’t too far away from a return.

Obviously, we missed Pogba’s creativity and willingness to try something different against West Brom, and hopefully, he’s ready to be thrown straight back into the mix with a start tonight. For all his criticism, at least he’s willing to try those defence-splitting passes, because, for all his effort and hard work, Fellaini just doesn’t offer that.
