Manchester United are in a rich vein of form lately, and credit has to go to Jose Mourinho for that. The manager made four huge signings over the summer, all of which have had a supremely positive impact on proceedings at Old Trafford, and there may be another player on the way.
The January transfer window is looming, and now Portuguese media outlet O Jogo say that Victor Lindelof arrived at SL Benfica’s club facilities on Tuesday morning to complete the final details of his transfer to Manchester United.
Lindelof, 22, reportedly spent Christmas time in Sweden (his home country), and now O Jogo says that he’s back in order to sign a new contract with a bumper release clause. In my opinion, this is a smart thing to do by Benfica because it means they’ll get an even bigger transfer fee out of Lindelof from Manchester United.
The release clause that O Jogo say will be in place is €60million, which considerably eclipses the £38million that Sky Sports say Manchester United held talks with Benfica about.
To be brutally honest, Lindelof is a player that I’ve not seen an awful lot of, but you simply have to put your trust in a manager like Jose Mourinho. Going by his track record, he knows his stuff…
