Manchester United’s defence lacks any real depth at this moment in time, with Louis van Gaal down to the bare bones after picking up a few injuries in that area of the field. Today, one man they’ve been linked with signing has spoken out on rumours.
The young defender Jerry St Juste, who plays his football for Herenveen has expressed his delight at gossip speaking of a potential move to Old Trafford.
“I read it indeed, but I do not do anything with it.” the defender began.
“I just do my best. That’s the important thing. What should I do with it?”
“There are always people in the stands and there is always people watching you. You should always play well. I have little experience with pressure. Do I have a dream club? Manchester United is a very nice club. The same applies to FC Barcelona.” St Juste said.
At the end of the day, I’ve said it time-and-time again this season that Manchester United need proven quality rather than talented starlets. Louis van Gaal needs players who can come in and make that instant impact, whereas players like St Juste will need time to develop and grow.
If he does make the move to Old Trafford it could be a similar situation to that of Anthony Martial, who Louis van Gaal claimed was bought more for the benefit of the next United manger rather than himself.
