Manchester United links with Renato Sanches just don’t seem to be going away, with the latest report coming out of Record in Portugal. They say that even Sanches’ family is aware of the transfer, and Benfica want the deal to be completed before the European Championships next month.
Benfica are after a huge fee of €80m (£63m) for the 18-year old Sanches who has been making a real name for himself this season. This is probably a fee that Manchester United will deem far too steep, and they are likely to offer a much lower fee for the midfielder initially.
When spending this kind of money on pure talent, there is always a large element of risk involved. However after the success of Anthony Martial this season, you’d imagine its a move that the Manchester United board will be willing to take.
Sanches has great, quick feet, a superb ability to find a pass as well as a rocket of a shot. He really has all the aspects of being a real top quality attacking midfielder going forward, and that has already been recognised by his native Portugal, who have given him two national team caps already.
