Manchester United haven’t really made any huge sensations with transfers during this January window, with Louis van Gaal seemingly finding it tough to bring in new players in the middle of the season. One area where the club is clearly looking to invest in is youth, and that seems to be the case again.
The Manchester Evening News say that Manchester United have stepped up the chase to bring in the latest star coming out of Scotland; Matthew Knox.
Knox, 16, has been handed a trial at Old Trafford after speaking to members of staff at Manchester United, and despite interest from a whole host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
As with all young players, you’re investing in talent rather than proven quality, and its more of a gamble this way, however it often costs less to bring in teenagers so its more risk with a potentially higher reward.
