Manchester United have been playing some brilliant football recently. That’s all down to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Most have improved under his tutelage and it has been brilliant to see. However, one player remains an enigma; Alexis Sanchez. The superstar Chilean hasn’t shown anywhere near his best at Old Trafford and that has been massively disappointing.
There has been chatter amongst fans (myself included) suggesting whether it’d be better if Sanchez moved away from the Theatre of Dreams. However, according to the Daily Express, the ex-Arsenal man isn’t planning on doing that…
Their report says that Sanchez is ready to dig his heels in and fight for his place at United – which is obviously admirable. I do wonder whether it’s all talk, though. Heck, why would he want to leave on such huge wages?
This is a super player we’re talking about, but you can understand United’s choice if they just wanted him off the books come the summer.
For what it’s worth, I think giving him one more season is a risk that we should take. On his day, he’s brilliant. If he can stay injury free and start scoring again, it gives us another dimension in a key area of the field.
