Over last summer, Manchester United were linked with a move for Mexican sensation, Hirving Lozano. The striker is having yet another outstanding season with his current club Pachuca, having found the back of the net eighteen times.
The 21-year-old has led the line wonderfully for his team, but it’s pretty obvious that the forward is already chasing a move away. In a recent interview, Lozano has expressed his desire for the English and Spanish leagues, before adding that the club he would like most is Manchester United.
“I believe many [leagues] are beautiful, I like the English and the Spanish very much,” he told Univision, as per Squawka.
“But let’s see how things are and decide. The one I would like most is Manchester [United], I like this club a lot and it’s a very important club.”
At the end of the day, he obviously seems keen to join one of the biggest clubs in the world, and who can blame him? With that said, Jose Mourinho will have already outlined exactly what he wants when the summer transfer window begins.
In my opinion, I just don’t see our manager making a move for someone so young, particularly due to the fact that he has a very similar playing style to that of Marcus Rashford.
If we are going to move for a striker, I’d definitely expect it to be someone with a lot more experience and seniority. Youngsters are more of a gamble, and the older players tend to be more of a sure thing; and that’s the way Mourinho tends to go when it comes to bringing in new faces.
