Earlier today, we covered a story claiming that United have agreed personal terms with winger Daniel James, although no transfer fee has been agreed.
It does seem only a matter of time before the Wales international joins the Red Devils, and we’re getting more details on the impending deal almost by the hour.
The latest story comes from the Evening Standard, who are stating that James, 21, has his ‘heart set’ on a move to United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer meanwhile, is eager for a swift resolution as other clubs, including Leeds and Brighton, are still pushing for a deal to be completed.
It seems as though James’ versatility is the big selling point, and although Swansea are holding out to maximise the transfer fee they receive for the winger, £15-20million should be enough to get the deal done.
I’ve said it quite a few times recently, but I do like the fact United are trying to get back to their roots by making moves for hungry youngsters rather than marquee players who have no point to prove.
Away from James for a minute, the Evening Standard’s report also claims that United are chasing as many as five signings this summer – and that number may increase depending on who leaves the club between now and the end of the window.
