Tahith Chong is set to be playing his football in the Championship in 2021/22.
Manchester United’s dressing room is jam-packed with some world-class talents at the moment. Credit has to go to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for that.
Our Baby Faced Assassin is definitely building something special at the Theatre of Dreams. Sadly, though, there’s just not enough minutes to go around.
Amongst that category is none other than Tahith Chong. The fluffy-haired Dutchman was probably expecting to be firmly within the first-team set up at this point. However, that hasn’t happened thus far.
Failed loan moves at Club Brugge and Werder Bremen have almost certainly hampered Chong’s development. It’s vital, then, that this next career move is 100% correct.
According to The Telegraph, the 16-appearance United starlet is close to sealing a loan move as he looks to kickstart his career. This time, Chong will be staying on English shores, playing for Championship side Birmingham City.
The deal will likely be a twelve-month one, meaning Chong will be given plenty of time to prove his worth and show that he does have what it takes to make it in this country.
I do like this move. The Championship is notoriously combative and that’ll definitely help Chong grow as a footballer.
As is always the case, it’s about making sure Chong is going somewhere where he’ll play regularly. Hopefully, Birmingham can offer the Dutchman that chance which he so desperately needs.
You do get the feeling this is the last chance saloon for Chong. He simply has to grab this opportunity with both hands, or his career at Old Trafford may well be over…
