Tahith Chong has joined Club Brugge on loan for the remainder of the season.
At the start of the 2020/21 term, Tahith Chong would move to Werder Bremen on a season-long loan move. After an electric start for the Bundesliga outfit, things would quickly fizzle out for our Dutch winger.
Much like James Garner, Chong would see his loan move cut short, in order for Manchester United to send him off elsewhere. This time, Chong would head to Belgium to join Club Brugge KV.
At this stage in his career, Chong needs minutes under his belt. Right now, that’s nigh-on impossible at Old Trafford, hence why there was no other choice but to sanction this move.
Well, upon confirming the news, Club Brugge announced that the United loanee would in fact wear the number seven jersey. As you can see below, he’s all-smiles holding his new shirt aloft.

Now it’s down to Chong to show everyone what he can do. Okay, so Belgian football isn’t really the pinnacle of our beautiful game, but this is a step up from U23s level.
I just hope that Chong can nail down a place in the team. There seems to be inconsistencies within his game, which is somewhat natural for the wing positions, though those have to be minimised if Chong is going to make it at United.
With the likes of Amad Diallo, Facundo Pellistri and potentially a new right-wing signing on the horizon, Chong is rapidly approaching the last chance saloon for his Old Trafford career. Right now, it’s do or die. Chong needs to send out a message to everyone, while proving that he’s ready.
All the best and good luck, Tahith!
