Tahith Chong reacts to signing new Man United contract

Yesterday Tahith Chong put pen to paper on a new Manchester United contract.

The Red Devils had been locked in talks with the talented Dutchman, and to be honest, to me, it felt like he was about to walk away from Old Trafford on a free transfer.

In the end, though, both parties managed to reach a mutual agreement, with the winger signing a new deal until 2022, with the option for a further year.

Shortly after putting pen to paper, Chong took to Twitter to send a heartfelt message to the United fans, labelling it a ‘dream come true’…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure he’s delighted to stay here, but that was after Chong and his agent spent a month or so flirting with Italian sides, namely Inter Milan…

No doubt he’s now feeling more settled with life now, he’ll no longer be anxious about where he’ll be playing his football next season. Chong can now focus solely on playing football while trying to develop his talents.

It’s fair to say he hasn’t been mightily impressive during his first-team appearances so far this term, so perhaps a loan move away is in his best interests. Preferably, he’ll head somewhere who can play him week-in-week-out and allow Chong to grow as a player…

Congratulations, Chongy!
