Tahith Chong rejects loan offers to stay and fight for Man United place: report

Manchester United’s pre-season tour was rather refreshing this time around. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put real trust in youth and it was wonderful to see.

Amongst those was Tahith Chong, with the fluffy-haired Dutchman putting in some superb cameo appearances – proving that he’s good enough to play regular minutes at the highest level.

According to Voetbal International, the talented 19-year-old starlet has actually rejected loan offers from PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord, in order to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his first-team place.

Furthermore, his agent has stated that Chong doesn’t want to be loaned out, while also confirming that his client actually is attracting interest from ‘top clubs’ from both the La Liga and Bundesliga… To me, this seems like his agent trying to force United’s hand, so the club doesn’t lose the winger.

You have to admire Chong’s courage and determination to do well at Old Trafford. There’s no doubt that he has the ability, though the fact that he hasn’t featured in the opening two match-day squads leads me to believe that Solskjaer isn’t fully convinced just yet.

Perhaps we’ll see him in the Europa League and Carabao Cup competitions – both of which we’ll enter next month…
