Talented Man United 22-year-old being targeted for January transfer to boyhood club

Manchester United have always had proud traditions when it comes to developing young players, and that’ll hopefully continue with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now at the helm.

One player who can consider himself unlucky this term is Andreas Pereira. The young Brazilian was seemingly promised the world by Jose Mourinho, but outside of a couple of early season starts, we’ve barely seen him.

So-much-so that, I believe he’s seriously considering his Old Trafford future. Now, his boyhood club, Santos, have confirmed their interest in signing Pereira in January. That’s according to The Mirror Online.

Pereira’s situation is an odd one. He’s obviously a talented player who is capable of playing at the highest level, but I don’t feel he has been given a fair shot.

The loan moves in Spain show that, with regular football, he could potentially have something to offer this club. Who knows, though, perhaps patience has already ran out and he sees his future elsewhere.

I’d be shocked if he headed to Santos, mind. If Pereira has plans to play for a top European team in the future, he’d be best served keeping himself on this continent.
