Talented Manchester United youngster suffers ligament damage

Manchester United loaned a whole host of youngsters out on transfer deadline day, and perhaps the most promising of the lot is Tom Thorpe. The 21-year old has been the standout performer for our U21s all season long, and fully deserved his loan move to Birmingham City.

However he lasted just fifteen minutes on the pitch before being stretchered off due to suffering ankle ligament damage.

Birmingham’s manager Lee Clarke said:

“We’re devastated for him.

“He’s a terrific kid and we were absolutely delighted to get someone of his quality. Manchester United rate him so highly and he’s been a brilliant lad.”

It is unknown how long the young centre-back will be out for, but you’d imagine thats his season over already. I’m absolutely gutted for him, but hopefully he’ll come back stronger and hungrier next season.
