Manchester United are playing some decent stuff on the field at the moment, as Jose Mourinho’s men are looking to challenge for the title for the first time in a few seasons. Things are going pretty well, but some fringe players are clearly getting frustrated with a lack of game time.
One man in particular who has expressed his displeasure, is talented winger, Memphis Depay. The young man cost United £25million just twelve months ago, and he is yet to make any real impact on the team.
“I am the same person and I know what I want,” Memphis began.
“A supporting role is not for me. I’m not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United.”
“This is my dream club, but I want to play.”
Last season he got plenty of opportunities but didn’t take any of them. Under Mourinho it has been a different story. You’d argue that he hasn’t really had a real chance to impress so far this campaign, but he must remain patient.
He will get his opportunity, there is no doubt about that. It’s then up to the 22-year-old to grasp that chance with both hands and really make it so that Jose simply cannot drop him.
