Is it already too early to determine whether Manchester United’s title race is over? We’re already eight points adrift, with several teams above us looking mightily strong…
Anyway, the Premier League race continues this weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s men heading South to take on a West Ham United side who have been doing better recently.
Before the big clash, the Manchester Evening News have unearthed the travelling Red Devils squad, with no fewer than 19 players aboard the train to London.
Included are the likes of Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, while Marcus Rashford also made the trip following his domestic suspension.
There are a few players who have missed out, though. The notable absentee being right-back Antonio Valencia. However, there is also no Diogo Dalot, so it looks as though either Ashley Young or Matteo Darmian will play in the right-back slot. Andreas Pereira has also missed out.
This game will not be easy. United will have to be at their best if they want to take anything away from the fixture. I think this will be telling as to whether the players still trust in their manager. Play well and win, normal services is resumed, play poorly and lose? Well, expect the media to continue with their United-bashing frenzy that’s currently taking place.
Manchester United’s 19-man squad in full (per the Manchester Evening News):
De Gea, Grant; Young, Smalling, Shaw, Bailly, Darmian, Lindelof; Pogba, Fellaini, Mata, Herrera, Fred, McTominay, Matic; Lukaku, Martial, Rashford, Sanchez.
