Teenage sensation stalling over new Man United contract, club fear they could lose him: report

Manchester United Football Club have a feeling that teenage sensation Angel Gomes could be on his way out of Old Trafford. That’s according to The Sun, per The Daily Star.

The 17-year-old is stalling over a new deal at the Theatre of Dreams, with European giants like Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona waiting in the wings to try and swoop in to sign Gomes.

Gomes was handed his first Premier League minutes back in May, when Jose Mourinho brought him on as a substitute against Crystal Palace, replacing Wayne Rooney. At that point, it felt like some sort of changing of the guard was going to take place.

It was always going to take Gomes time, and I guess we never expected him to feature heavily this season. But, for one reason or another, it seems as though the attacker is considering his options.

Of course, your head is always going to be turned when the likes of FC Barcelona come calling. Either that, or huge money is on the table, which is obviously tough to turn down.

My view is this. Manchester United simply have to do whatever it takes to keep hold of Gomes, because he’s insanely talented and could be a future world beater.
