Man United received mixed injury news ahead of the Premier League home game vs Wolves…
Manchester United Football Club have struggled on the injury front since the Sevilla Europa League home game. Erik ten Hag has been working with one hand tied behind his back at times. Sadly, that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.
The United gaffer gave with one hand and took with the other during today’s presser. No sooner had he confirmed that Raphael Varane would be back fit, Marcus Rashford has emerged as an injury problem.
United received the mixed injury news earlier today, pre-Wolves at home tomorrow. Rashford, the key United player, has a leg injury. He has since been rated ‘more than doubtful’ to feature tomorrow, which does not sound good.
Check out what Ten Hag had to say in full here:
“He has a problem, an injury on his leg, so he is a big question mark for tomorrow,” said Ten Hag, per ManUtd.com. “But we are happy Rapha Varane is back.
“[Rashford] is doubtful, more than doubtful. So [there is] a big question mark.”
The fact that Rashy is a ‘big question mark’ leads me to think that Rashford will not be involved. The manager didn’t seem at all convincing about his chances of featuring, meaning United’s already toothless attack is about to lose its top scorer for at least one match.
Without Rashford, United’s goal output has been pretty pathetic at times. This is the period of the season when we need him the most, though now, the onus falls to the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial to carry us through…
There was some better news in regards to Rapha, who is now seemingly fit enough to be involved. I’d be surprised if we see the Frenchman start this match, particularly after so long out, though it is good to have him back available for selection.
More than anything, it allows Luke Shaw to g back to his left-back position. He has been incredible at centre-back, but he’s much better over on the left-hand side of defence.
Get well soon, Rashy!
