Erik ten Hag and Man United are ‘open’ to including Amad in the first-team squad next season.

Manchester United have plenty of promising youth talents on their books at the moment – which is always promising and exciting to see.

Several have had to head out on loan to hone their talents and play regular football. The hope being that in the long-run, these guys can contribute at United.

Perhaps the standout talent right now is Amad. the young man, who cost the club huge amounts of money a few years ago, is currently on loan at Sunderland.

Amad is trying to help his side fight for a place in the Championship playoffs right now, proving to be a key member of Tony Mowbray’s squad.

No doubt United are keeping a watchful eye on Amad’s development – including the gaffer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag is ‘open’ to including the 20-year-old in his first-team squad for next season.

The attacker scored his twelfth goal of the season over the weekend, with United staff ‘pleased’ with the player’s development, during a period which feels like a real breakthrough moment for the winger.

It’s stated that Amad is likely to be named in United’s pre-season tour squad, during which Ten Hag will get a proper look at the player close-up, for an extended period of time.

Amad could get that chance. According to the MEN, United are still prepared to let Anthony Elanga leave either permanently or on loan, whereas Facundo Pellistri will seal a short-term move away – meaning there could be space in the squad for Amad.

For Amad, he could be targeting that back-up right-wing role in-behind Antony, while the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho battle it out for the left-wing position.
