Terms agreed, Man United 29-year-old to leave club this summer: report

Manchester United’s rebuilding job is going to be a long process. Before players are signed it’s inevitable that some key pieces will leave.

Today, according to RMC Sport, it is being claimed that Ander Herrera has agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain, with only the length of the contract to be worked out.

Apparently, Herrera’s former employers, Athletic Bilbao, showed an interest but it came too late with the midfielder already agreed to move to Paris. He’ll leave Old Trafford on a free transfer.

It’s a massive shame to see Herrera walk away, particularly for nothing. There’s no doubt that as a squad player, it would have been much better for the club to keep the midfielder around, but if he was asking for too much money then it’s probably the correct decision; albeit a painful one.

For Herrera, he wants to win silverware. PSG will guarantee at least a couple of trophies every season, so no doubt he’ll be relishing the opportunity to put a few winners medals around his neck.

Now it’s down to the club and player to put their issues aside and come together. We’re going to need Herrera for our final few league games, and if he plays at his best we have every chance at finishing in the top four.
