The biggest game of the season is finally upon us, with the winner expected to go on and claim the title. Lets just hope our boys go out there and do us proud, our experience could be vital in us getting a result tonight. Come on lads!
Date: 30th April 2012
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Referee: Andre Marriner
Probable starting XIs
Manchester United: De Gea, Smalling, Evans, Ferdinand, Evra, Giggs, Scholes, Carrick, Valencia, Rooney, Welbeck
Man City: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Barry, Y. Toure, Silva, Nasri, Tevez, Aguero
With suspicions that Evans and Nani are to miss out with injury, our back four could be somewhat unfamiliar. Personally I’m hoping that SAF is up to his usual mind games and trying to keep our local rivals guessing. One thing’s for certain though, the eleven men that play tonight is going to have to be at their absolute best.
Mankini is set to go back on his word once again, a few weeks ago he claimed that Balotelli’s season was over, and this week bizarrely stated that he could be the difference. His management approach since we have taken the lead at the top of the table has been somewhat of a negative one, claiming that United are still going to win the league. This has to be rubbing off on the players and casting a seed of doubt in their minds.
Men to watch
Wayne Rooney: Rooney has been in great form of late, and I hope this continues tonight, if he finds his feet he is a certainty to cause City problems.
Sergio Aguero: The Argentine has had a fine start to his Man City career, he is set to test our back four tonight, lets hope our defence is at it’s best!
Last Meeting: Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United
This game resulted in a “moral victory” for Man City, this should provide an incentive for us as we know we can go to the Emptihad and get a result!
Lets go show them why we are the pride of Manchester, we have the quality and experience to go there and find a result, and to anyone who is lucky enough to have a ticket, sing your heart out and get behind our boys! COME ON REDS!
