Manchester United as a whole put in a brilliantly professional performance away at AFC Bournemouth this weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s men looking really strong right from the start. However, the result certainly covered up one of the worst performances by a single player we’ve seen in quite a while.
The main reason behind the man in question escaping any real blame was a headed goal midway through the second half; of course, we’re talking about the man that divides fans like no other – Wayne Rooney.
Our captain has looked distinctly average for a couple of years now, and he just doesn’t look anywhere near good enough to play in a side that wants to have title ambitions.
Take a look at this horrific video below and see for yourself:
He gave the ball away so often, stopped Manchester United counter attacks due to slow thinking, and even slower pace. Missed tackles, got dispossessed easily, and honestly, didn’t look like he really cared.
Despite everything he has done for the club, he simply has to be dropped from the line-up. As a whole I think we’ll look so much better without him starting, and if any manager in the world has the guts to make a big call like that, you’d expect Jose Mourinho to be bold enough.
