Manchester United have won just two games out of their last seven, as the pressure continues to mount on Jose Mourinho. The team just don’t look like they want to work for each other, or for their manager.
However, over the last week or so, just one United player has shone. He can hold his head high. Of course, we’re talking about Mancunian, Marcus Rashford.
The Wythenshawe-born-attacker struggled at season’s start, but when given a consistent run of games, he is proving his worth once again.
Not only has Rashford score two goals in his last four, he’s also picked up four assists in that time. That’s certainly a record to be proud of.
It’s not just the goals or assists, for me, it’s about the attitude. The least United fans expect is effort. Red Devils fans are rare in that regard, we can take losing football matches so long as we know the players have given 100% every single time.
Within the current squad, Rashford is, quite comfortably the hardest worker. He’s the first to press opposing defenders when in possession, he’ll chase down any 50/50, he will show that fire, passion and aggression.
Going forward, this is a player whom Mourinho has to start with regularity. He’s quicker than Lukaku, puts in more effort, and even looks calmer when bearing down on goal. Give the young man his shot through the middle, because right now, it’s the least he deserves.
