Manchester United’s sizeable tour squad is about to get a little bigger, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to welcome three stars to the Singapore leg of the tour.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Fred, Matteo Darmian, and the talented 22-year-old goalkeeper Dean Henderson will join the squad this week.

The Red Devils’ last game in Australia takes place tomorrow against Leeds United (see our preview here), before the squad will jet out to Singapore for the start of the International Champions Cup at the weekend.

This will be the first chance that fans will get to see Henderson in action wearing United colours, as he looks to challenge David de Gea for that long-term starting spot in between the sticks.

As for Fred, he has been allowed some personal leave due to his marriage. Now, though, he’ll hopefully be feeling refreshed and ready to play. It’s a big twelve months for the Brazil midfielder, who is obviously talented but yet to showcase his full abilities.

Darmian was given extra time off due to family reasons. He has stayed in Manchester (up until now). I’m honestly surprised that he’s still at the club at this point.

Hopefully, all three can come in and make an immediate impression on manager Solskjaer. The Baby Faced Assassin isn’t afraid to make major changes and if these guys do play well, they could force their way into that starting line-up for the Premier League opener against Chelsea.
