Three Manchester United players in the running to win prestigious Golden Boy Award

Every year, media organisations from all over Europe nominate the best under-21 footballers from that calendar year. The winner scoops the highly prestigious Golden Boy Award.

According to The Peoples Person, there are three Manchester United players on the initial 100-man shortlist; Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes.

Fosu-Mensah spent last season on loan with Crystal Palace, with the Dutchman seriously impressing Eagles fans during his short-term stint in London. He’s quick, tough in the tackle and positionally sound. That regular football will have done him the world of good.

Next up we have Dalot. The talented right-back is a new signing at Old Trafford, and has only played a handful of first-team games for FC Porto before his big-money move. This lad has huge potential, and if fulfils it, we could have found our right-sided defender for the next decade.

Last but not least, there’s Gomes. He’s been shining for the academy, and also earned himself a first-team debut against Palace on the final day of the 2016/17 season. Hopefully, we’ll see him on pre-season tour, because this boy has immense potential.

With all that said, the trio may find it tough to beat Kylian Mbappe to the award. He’s tearing it up at the World Cup right now…
