Three Manchester United players who have to be dropped for West Ham game

Manchester United Football Club take on West Ham United this weekend, in a clash that is once again expected to be tight. Louis van Gaal will go head-to-head with Slaven Bilic who has been extremely impressive since the start of the season, but injuries will not help the visitors.

United have their own selection dilemmas on their hands too, so we’ve decided to take a look at a few players who need some time on the sidelines due to poor performances.

First up is the most obvious one – Wayne Rooney. The club captain has struggled from the get-go this term. He has looked slow, lethargic, poor in possession and lacking in any real quality. Perhaps a couple of games on the sidelines will do him the world of good.

Secondly is Michael Carrick. There is no doubting that the veteran midfielder is a key asset in our title charge this term, but his last display against Leicester was nothing short of woeful. His passing was wayward, and he caused Manchester United plenty of problems off his own back.

The last selection will certainly cause some disagreement, but its Matteo Darmian. The Italian started like a house on fire at Manchester United, but over the last month or so his standards have slipped massively. He has been sloppy at the back, out of position plenty of times and looks tired. Hopefully this is just a blip.
