Manchester United’s summer transfer business has been nothing short of sensational so far under Jose Mourinho, and it looks as though we’re set to welcome the biggest of the lot at some point this week. However, there is bound to be casualties along the way.
Marcos Rojo – The Argentinian has been nothing short of shocking over the last twelve months, and it feels as though his head clearly isn’t in it. He is versatile, but at the best of times he can be an absolute liability, and that has shown on more than one occasion – even in pre-season he has cost a goal or two.
Bastian Schweinsteiger – Mourinho obviously isn’t a fan, and his exclusion from the 23-man squad certainly suggests that. There is no doubting Schweinsteiger’s ability as a player and influence, but his injury record hasn’t been great and United aren’t paying him to sit on the treatment table.
James Wilson – Wilson promised so much, but since his dramatic debut in which he scored twice, he hasn’t shown anything really worthy of keeping him here. United have both Martial and Rashford capable of playing as strikers, who both have massive potential. Wilson will do well to get any minutes under his belt at United this season, and he probably has to move on to find that.
