Three signings that Jose Mourinho could make at Manchester United

Manchester United are closing in on the appointment of Jose Mourinho, with the club acting swiftly to get a deal done for the self-proclaimed Special One. Ahead of any announcement, we’ve decided to take a look at a trio of players that could well sign for United this coming summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – The 34-year old Swede is reportedly at the top of Mourinho’s hit list. The pair have a great relationship, and Ibrahimovic is out of contract this summer. Although he’d command high wages, it could be a risk well worth taking.

Raphael Varane – Still one of the most talented centre-halves in world football. Mourinho loves Varane, and the 23-year old isn’t having the best of times out in Madrid. Mourinho won’t want to go into the season with only Chris Smalling as a recognised centre-back, so we could well see some real movement in that area of the field.

John Stones – Mourinho is obviously a huge admirer of Stones, as he tried to sign the Everton man for Chelsea last summer. Manchester United could well make their move for Stones now, and pairing him alongside Chris Smalling could be excellent for both club and country.
