Manchester United have certainly turned their fortunes around with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel.

On the pitch, the football is far more pleasing to watch. The correct results are falling into place. Off it, players are now willing to commit to new long-term deals at the Theatre of Dreams. Anthony Martial is the prime example.

There are still players who have winding down contracts, though. One of whom is fan favourite, Ander Herrera. Now, in an exclusive from The Sun, it is being reported that the midfielder is ready to commit to a new long-term deal at Old Trafford.

In terms of details, a three-year contract worth £100k-a-week is in the pipeline, which is similar terms to the deal he’s currently on.

Herrera has just been magnificent recently. I’d argue that his overall performance against Chelsea on Monday night was one of his finest ever as a professional footballer.

The fans love him, he understands United, and he just enjoys playing football. We’re lucky to have him and it’d be an absolute disaster if we were to let him leave; particularly for free.

He’s now a crucial part of a midfield trio that is working so brilliantly at the moment, so let’s get the deal done and allow him to focus solely on his football.
