Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be fit to return to action as early as November, The Independent report. That’s because the 35-year-old’s rehabilitation has gone so well, writes Miguel Delaney.
It would be truly remarkable if a man of his age can return to the football field less than six months after suffering a major knee problem. That’s a testament to the fighter that Ibrahimovic is though – and not many would be able to recover as sensationally quickly as the former PSG man looks set to.
This is a man who is just a born winner in every sense of the word. At the end of the season, he could have taken the easy way out and moved on from Old Trafford to sign for an MLS club. That’s just not in his nature – he’s started something at Manchester United and he wants to finish it.
I honestly thought we wouldn’t see him take to the field before the turn of the year and anything before that is a bonus. One thing I will say is that I just hope that Ibrahimovic’s return isn’t rushed – albeit I am excited to see how Jose Mourinho fits him in a starting line-up alongside Romelu Lukaku.
