Toni Kroos and Kevin Strootman top Van Gaal’s wish list

Some media sources suggesting Van Gaal has pretty much got the job, and others stating that Ryan Giggs’ inclusion as part of his back room staff is proving a stumbling block. One thing thats for certain, is that the transfer rumours aren’t showing any signs of letting up, and are in full flow.

Yesterday, reliable Norwegian. journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft claimed that Van Gaal has made Kevin Strootman and Toni Kroos his top midfield targets going into the new season.

Both of which would add an awful lot to our midfield. Toni Kroos is an excellent passer of the game, with vision that is second to none. Strootman is built in the Keane mould, and will never shirk a tackle.

Both of which are set to cost a pretty penny though, with talk of Kroos being valued at around the £30-40m mark, and Strootman only moved to Roma last summer for around £15m.

  1. Reliable journalist fjørtoft ??? firstly he is norwegian, and a football pundit. Not even close to journalist. And he know just about as much as any supporter on the stree. I.E next to nothing

  2. If i had to choose between the two it would be kroos, his passing and vision is bob on and very rarely loses possession of the ball. Strootman is an aggressive tackler with a good work rate, I would be happier if we could get both signatures but knowing our transfer luck of late we wont end up with any of the two and end up with Stephen Ireland.

  3. Kroos-the new scholes with passing and vision, strootman the new Keane with hard tackling and hes build like a beast
