Well it was fun while it lasted, many Reds were led to believe that Toni Kroos could well be coming to Old Trafford when the summer transfer window opens, but Bayern Munich have ended those dreams prematurely. The Bavarian side are prepared to let Kroos enter the last year of his contract rather than sell the 24-year old this year.
Toni Kroos has previously hinted that he’d like to play in the Premier League at some point, however that won’t be happening next year sadly.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern’s chairman said:
“Toni Kroos is sure to play in a Bayern Munich shirt next year as well,” Rummenigge said.
Personally I’ve always felt that Kroos was just using United to eventually get a better deal out of his current club, who’d be absolutely stupid to let him leave on a free in 2015. Until the player pens a new deal, this saga will probably run on into next season giving United fans false hope.
United take on Bayern Munich tonight, why not take a look at our predicted starting XI?
