Manchester United Football Club could have just received a boost in their pursuit of Thomas Lemar. That’s because the Daily Mirror, as per Calciomercato, writes that the French winger has his heart set on a move to the Theatre of Dreams.
Furthermore than the fact that he wants the deal to happen, Arsenal Football Club have apparently pulled out of the race to sign the 21-year-old left-sided player due to AS Monaco’s high valuation.
It comes as no secret that Jose Mourinho has been chasing a left-sided attacker during this transfer window, and Lemar would definitely be a welcome addition if the deal were to happen.
However, I’d urge the United board to take a close look at the form of both Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford before sanctioning any kind of move. The pair have been electric to start off the season and perhaps the mind of the manager may have been convinced to stick with what he has rather than spending big.
It’s a tough decision to make to be honest. Will Mourinho keep the faith in the aforementioned United duo? And will they carry on putting in the levels of performances that we’ve seen at the start of this season. I hope so, and that is the way I fully expect us to go with time in the transfer window winding down.
