Transfer Talk: Manchester United to move for Fredy Guarin

Louis van Gaal has targeted Fredy Guarin as a potential player for Manchester United, after missing out on Toni Kroos – claim the Express. The 27-year old midfielder currently plays his club football for Inter Milan, and featured in Columbia’s 3-0 win over Greece at the World Cup on Saturday.

As we all know, Manchester United need new midfielders. Guarin would cost around £12million and he could well be one of those signings that go under the radar as he doesn’t command a huge transfer fee. He’s an excellent box-to-box midfielder with a rocket of a shot on him too.

I’d certainly like him at Old Trafford, and if we can bring in another centre-midfielder alongside him of equal quality, that’d certain further increase our chances of doing well next season.

Manchester United still haven’t signed anyone yet, but as soon as the World Cup ends I expect us to push on with deals and announce a few transfers shortly afterwards.

Would Guarin be a good addition? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.

  1. why!
I dont know why this rumour is constantly being addressed, guarin is an extremely average player, the only statement that would be made via us signing him would be that we are a club in decline.
if they are buying him to be on the bench then fine (although there is still greater bench worthy quality available) but buying guarin with the idea of him being a starter is a poor poor signing. Inter Milan have been a club in decline for a while now, he has struggled to shine for them and even they have been desperate to find a buyer.
