The pressure is building on Jose Mourinho. Perhaps even more so, with French duo, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial, ‘open’ to Zinedine Zidane replacing the self-proclaimed Special One as Manchester United boss.
That’s according to The Telegraph, per The Metro, with even more players interested in the idea, but the aforementioned pair are the most prominent at this point in time; presumably as Zidane is their countryman.
Martial, who wanted to leave the club this summer, started alongside Pogba against Brighton last time out. It’s fair to say both put in horrible performances. At this point, the pair should be looking to sort out their own games, rather than considering the idea of a new manager taking over at the helm.
Sure, Mourinho may not be covering himself in glory right now, but he is still United manager. Talking about other names is just completely disrespectful, and it does no good for anyone involved in the situation.
Just let the current manager do his work, then assess the situation if he does leave United. Heck, who’s to say the club are even considering Zidane as a possibility? I’m not being funny, but anyone could win major trophies with the Real Madrid squad he had at his disposal. He’s still somewhat unproven as a manager.
