Tyrell Malacia completes medical and signs Man United contract

Tyrell Malacia has completed his Man United medical and signed his contract at the club.

Well, we’ve been made to wait for it, but Manchester United are finally closing in on their first summer signing.

Credit where it’s due, the Old Trafford club have kept this one under wraps. The media only got wind of the story about a week ago, with the Reds moving quickly to acquire their man.

Earlier today, Tyrell Malacia was pictured arriving at the AON Training Complex for the second part of his Reds medical.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has given us a major update, with his sources telling him the medical has been successfully completed, with Malacia also signing his new contract.

The deal to bring the left-back to Old Trafford now feels as good as done, with us supporters just waiting on an official announcement – that we believe should come at some point this week.

With Alex Telles now likely to be sold, Malacia will go head-to-head with Luke Shaw for the starting berth.

The good news for the 22-year-old Dutchman is the fact that he won’t be expected to play every single week, meaning Malacia can adjust to life in a new country at his own pace.

We do know that Erik ten Hag is a massive fan of Malacia from his Feyenoord days though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if United’s new boss places a lot of trust in his first major addition.

I’d like to think that a deal will be fully complete before United set off for pre-season tour later this week. Having Malacia aboard that plane is pretty important, so the player can bond with his new teammates and become accustomed to life at the biggest club in the country.

Do you think Tyrell Malacia will be a good signing for Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
