Tyrell Malacia may make his return to training next week, one journalist has hinted.
Manchester United Football Club have been dealt some major injury blows this season. The Red Devils have been competing without some of their key players for prolonged periods of time, which has made things pretty tough for Erik ten Hag.
One man who has not played once this term is Tyrell Malacia. His situation is a weird one as the updates on his injury have been vague. All that we know is that he’s suffered ligament damage of some description.
Ahead of the Ten Hag press conference today, MEN journalist Steven Railston took to Twitter to share his latest update on Malacia.
According to his information, it has been ‘suggested’ that the United star ‘will return’ to training on the grass next week. As Railston went on to say, that means he’s still at least a few weeks from being available for selection. Probably even longer due to the fact that he’s now been out for the best part of a full year.
Check out the X post on Malacia:
It’s been suggested to me that Tyrell Malacia will return to training on grass next week, which implies he’s still a few weeks away from being available. Feels like we’ve heard that a few times and Erik ten Hag will give an update at his press conference later #mufc

No doubt we will here more from the boss on Malacia this afternoon – which has been a long time coming if we’re totally honest.
At the end of the day, Malacia was signed for exactly this situation where Shaw is out injured. The fact that the club have been so tight-lipped on the Dutchman’s problem only leaves me feeling even more concerned.
Hopefully, this is just a blip in Malacia’s promising career rather than an underlying trend that is beginning to develop. I guess only time will tell on that front, but I would not be surprised if the Reds dipped their toes into the left-back transfer market this coming summer…
